Spring Cleaning!
This month our thoughts turn to sprucing up our homes in anticipation of Spring! Here at Wessex Chemicals we make a whole range of cleaning products but have picked our Super 8 to help you get your home sparkling clean!
Whose bathroom doesn’t need a good clean? Our Bathroom Cleaner is one of our most popular products partly because it makes cleaning your bathroom so effortless! Effective against bacteria and viruses, it also removes dirt, grime, grease and limescale. Not only that but it’s biological formula means that it tackles bad odours at the source, breaking down the ‘smelly’ molecules rather than just masking the smell (although it does have a fantastically fresh grapefruit scent!) It is a truly green product and completely biodegradable. And if your bathroom plug hole or shower trap is a little malodorous, simply pour a 50ml dose of bathroom cleaner down and leave it for twenty minutes and the bad smell will be gone.

At this time of year our carpets and upholstery are bearing the brunt of the bad weather! Whether you need to clean a small spot or if the whole carpet needs cleaning our Carpet and Fabric Cleaner is perfect for the job. Its highly concentrated so will last a long time (or clean a lot of carpets, whichever you prefer!) and comes in a handy dosing bottle so you know you’ll get the right dose. Oh and it can be used in carpet cleaning machines too. Most of us here at Wessex have pets and/or small children so this is a MUST on our list of Spring Cleaning Jobs!
Did I mention that most of us at Wessex have small children and/or pets? Well, developing an effective odour eliminator was a must! Our Odour Eliminator uses a biological formula that actually breaks down the source of the smell rather than simply masking it (although it does have a pleasant linen fragrance to cover the smell whilst it gets to work!). As its biological its completely biodegradable, environmentally friendly and safe to use around our pets and kids. Whether its that musty smell you sometimes get at this time of year, wet dog or an ‘accident’ we’ve got you covered!
After the awful weather we’ve been having, whose windows don’t need a good clean? Our professional grade Glass Cleaner has a high alcohol and ammonia content which means it will remove all manner of dirt and grime, leaving behind a streak -free, squeaky- clean finish. You can use on windows inside and out and it also makes an excellent stainless steel cleaner (particularly for oven hoods and stainless steel fittings in bathrooms).
No Spring Clean would be complete without giving the toilet a good clean! Our Toilet Cleaner (formally known as 4 Way T) is an amazing cleaner AND descaler and does it with ease. It will remove limescale, phosphate and uric acid deposits, with no scrubbing required, leaving a sparkling toilet bowl. It kills harmful bacteria and helps prevent damage to metal parts and is safe to use on ceramics and plastics.
At this time of year, lots of ‘bugs’ are circulating. Our Steri-Clean is a brilliant cleaner and sanitiser, perfect for all hard surfaces in the home. Its highly concentrated and so great value for money. It will clean away grease and grime all the while killing harmful bacteria and viruses such as Covid-19 and Influenza A. Not only that but it won’t harm any surface that is unaffected by water. So if its a regular clean or an ’emergency’ clean because your house is starting to look like a hospital then get yourself some Steri-Clean!
UPVC window frames inside and out are looking rather sorry for themselves between the terrible weather and keeping windows closed, the dirt and grime can really build up. Our Plastic Cleaner is perfect for cleaning your window frames, inside and out. Its specially formula means it lifts off the dirt and grime, without scratching the frame (be sure to use a microfibre cloth). And its great at removing the greening that can develop on the seals. Not only that but it leaves behind a protective layer to make them easier to clean next time!
And last, but my no means least, in our cleaning arsenal, is our multi-purpose Waterless Wash. Simply spray and wipe with a microfibre cloth. It’s great for cleaning skirting boards, kitchen cupboards and work surfaces. Essentially any hard surface that needs a clean or a dust, then Waterless Wash is the product for you. It lifts off the dust and dirt and even leaves behind a protective layer to make it easier to clean next time. One word of warning be careful not to use it on floors or anything else you need to walk on…it will make it slippy!
